Finally, a Torch That Takes Orders
Most tactical torches come with a mind of their own — one beam, one button dance, take it or leave it. The Nitecore P27iX flips that. TorchMonster reckons it's less like buying a torch and more like hiring one: you tell it which beam, which button does what, and how hard to hit, and it just gets on with the job. Underneath all that obedience sits 5,000 lumens of freshly-baked LED tech that'll turn a pitch-black paddock into a floodlit stage.
Three Beams, One Boss
Nitecore's new M515S array packs 20 LED cores into an X-shaped grid, and the party trick is that you can electronically switch the beam itself — no twisting, no zoom mechanism, no moving parts. Long-throw mode punches 430 metres out the back with 46,320 candela behind it. Floodlight mode spreads a 115° wall of light for sheds, bush, and close work. Mixed mode gives you both at once. And when things get properly interesting, LUMIN SHIELD dumps the full 5,000 lumens in a wide blast designed to make whatever's coming at you seriously reconsider.
Trained to Your Trigger Finger
Dual-stage tail buttons plus a side SET button, and every press — half or full — is yours to program. Run Tactical Grip when it's business time or Duty Grip for the everyday, and assign STROBE, SEARCH, or LUMIN SHIELD wherever your thumb expects them. The strobe even wobbles randomly between 16 and 20Hz so eyes can't adjust to it. A Rapid Lock slide switch stops it firing off in your bag, and the anti-grab tail keeps it planted in your hand when things get physical.
Tougher Than the Job Description
Machined from 7075-T6 aerospace aluminium with a military-grade hard anodised finish, IP68 waterproof to 2 metres, drop-rated the same — rain, rivers, and ute-tray abuse are all in a day's work. The stainless steel strike bezel carries silicon nitride ceramic tips that'll punch through glass in an emergency. All that, at 143mm long and just 124 grams before the battery goes in.
Juice for Days
The included 5,500mAh 21700 battery runs up to 100 hours on low, and USB-C fast charging (18W QC/PD) has it full again in about two hours. Caught short in the field? The included magazine takes two CR123s as a backup power plan. TorchMonster rates that kind of belt-and-braces thinking.
TorchMonster loves the glass-breaking ceramic bezel tips — it's the one trick the smaller P17iX doesn't get, along with an extra 100 metres of throw. If you're picking between the siblings, this is the one that carries a crowbar in its back pocket.
